Costa Rica Adventure 2011 Details

How do I travel to Costa Rica?

Airfare is NOT included in the price. We suggest that you either (a) join us in Atlanta and fly with one of our counselors to San Jose or (b) fly independently to San Jose and we’ll be there to meet you at the airport. We’ll send more details about that upon registration.

How will my teen tour group travel around Costa Rica?

Our Costa Rica teen travel camp will utilize private vans to traverse the beautiful country. The van driver and trip leader will meet each participant at the airport and remain with the group for the duration of the adventure camp experience. The vans are well-maintained, late-model vehicles, air-conditioned, comfortable, with cargo rack and appropriate for the Costa Rican highways.

What foods do I expect ot eat in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica Adventure Teen Travel Camp offers unbelievable food choices. In fact, some teen travelers admit that the Costa Rican dishes add another dimension of adventure to this already jam-packed adventure travel experience. Some meals will be served in restaurants while other meals will be prepared by local chefs with the freshest ingredients. We will chow down with traditional Costa Rican dishes quite often but favorite American dishes will be available at times as well.
In other words, we’ll have pizza, and burgers from time to time but we will try the tasty bean, rice, fish, chicken, and banana dishes common to the country. Exotic fruits and fresh vegetables are delightful and plentiful as well. Costa Rican markets are an adventure for all. Our teen travelers may even have an opportunity to help prepare a native dish.
Our adventure campers will NEVER be hungry. In fact, many teen travelers stock up on their favorite foods by stuffing nuts, cookies, coffee beans and local sauces into their luggage just before the flight home

What about lodging?

We’ll usea variety of lodging styles. Most commonly, we’ll stay in lodges and Costa Rican hotels. There may be a few nights of camping and we’ll provide all of the gear. While we promise only basic lodging, quite often, the CostaRican proprietors provide free upgrades to our Costa Rican adventure teen travelers and we find ourselves in quite wonderful cabins, homes, and lodges. Male and female adventure travelers are always housed in separate quarters and trip leaders are always onsite to provide security and to assist the teen travelers as needed.

How are participants supervised?

There will be at least 1 adut leader for every 3 participants.

How do I register?

Upon completion of the registration form, we will send you details about the trip including all paperwork, a suggested packing list, and exact information about Day 1.
